Kim Sivick is the Lower School Coordinator of technology at Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.
Kim is co-founder of EdCamp Philly, the original Unconference for teachers. Kim was awarded the Chestnut Hill Academy Trustee’s fellowship in 2010. She used the awarded funds to travel to Uganda, taking 10 donated laptops and setting up a technology program in a rural Ugandan school.
Kim will present at ISTE 2011 on the topic of establishing global collaborations. She will also speak and moderate a panel at the NYC #140 Character Conference this June. Her topic is “Creating Authentic Learning Experiences for Kids Using Online Global Collaborations”.

Hear about a Ugandan teacher that traveled over an hour to the closest town to videoconference with U.S. students. He used YouTube to share information about his students. Learn how to establish connections in developing countries and the power of authentic learning experiences at the elementary level.
