Lisa Dabbs

Lisa Dabbs

Lisa has an extensive educational background having worked in the industry for over 20 years. She is an Educational Coach and Consultant, Edutopia.org New Teacher Connections Group Facilitator, and Board Member of a Literacy Non-Profit. She is also a newly appointed Library Board of Trustee in her community.

Lisa has served as an elementary school principal for 14 years, a federal programs project director, English Language Arts consultant for Kaplan Educational Corporation and Adjunct Professor for Concordia University. She is currently working as 1:1 Educational Coach and Consultant supporting new teachers and educational organizations utilizing leadership experience in the areas of curriculum and instruction, English Language Learners, Early Childhood Education, educational technology, and parent education.

Lisa is the originator of New Teacher Chat (#ntchat), a weekly chat for new teachers on Twitter. You can follow her tweets @teachingwthsoul. You can also find her blogging at http://teachingwithsoul.com. She is working on the development of an E-Book with Shelly Terrell and assists as an admin of The 30 Goals on Facebook. She is also currently on the coordinating team of The Reform Symposium 2011 E-Conference and EdcampOC (Orange County), the first Un-Conference in California. She is speaking nationally at the ASCD Annual Conference, and SXSW Edu Project Share. Lisa holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Child Development and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. She is passionate about what she calls IMET: Inspire, Mentor & Equip teachers…to “teach with soul”.
